Inaki Beguiristain was introduced to holography over 20 years ago during a visit to an art exhibition in London (UK). In one way or another he has been fully involved in the industry ever since. Within a couple of years of this first encounter he had set up a small facility for making basic reflection holograms, and soon moved into the field of multicolour reflection holography. His formal education is in science, and after studying Physics at Imperial College, London, he designed and built a studio for producing one off display holograms, with the emphasis on quality rather than quantity.

Today, the same ethos applies, the set up is not only fully operational, but over some years has seen refinements that have lead to the quality steadily improving. It is now one of the only dedicated multicolour hologram facilities in the world.

As well as teaching holography both in the UK and abroad, Inaki was fortunate to spend time at the Holocenter in New York using their sophisticated pulsed laser systems, which enabled the completion of a project to make holograms of flowing water.”

Inaki is also heavily involved in the Embossed hologram industry, working with Light Impressions to combat the threat of counterfeiters and forgers in the field of security, brand protection and authentication. He has worked with many companies and individuals within this industry, and has originated holograms for some of the country’s most secure national documents, and many prestigious brands.
